Game title: Orbix C128 Optimised
Game description: Orbix is a pachinko / break out style of game where your objective is to eliminate all of the orange Orbz by launching a ball from the top of the screen. You have a limited number of balls at your disposal to achieve your objective. At the bottom of the screen you have a tray moving side to side that will save balls for you to reuse, if a ball misses the tray at the bottom then the ball is lost. In addition to the orange orbz, you will find aids such as chain reaction bombs, switches, portals, bumpers and cannons and hazards such as lasers. There are 20 levels in total.

Summary
The concept behind Orbix is a clever hybrid of the pachinko / breakout genre that has the potential to be a brilliant and absorbing strategic arcade puzzler but it is let down by its execution.
Despite the C128 optimised mode pulling a little more performance making the ball speed move a little faster , the game continues to suffer from inconsistent ball velocity that makes trying to time the ball to fall down in your tray at the bottom a frustrating affair. The improved ball speed with the C128 optimised version does come at a cost of a less reliable hit detection.
The hi-res graphics have an interesting style to them but they do often suffer from glitching. Despite this, there is good variation and design to the levels on offer.
There is a minor improvement to Orbix when running on a Commodore 128’s ‘Go64’ mode but it still requires too much grunt that the Commodore 8-bit machines are not going to be able to keep up with.
